Isle of Palms · South Carolina
12 Twentieth Avenue
A private resort, three blocks from the sand.
The Residence
This is the one you’ve been hoping to find
Every big project here is finished. New roof, dual-zone HVAC, city sewer instead of septic, and a full renovation inside and out. Four bedrooms, three baths, and two primary suites, one on each floor. Bring your toothbrush; leave the hammer at your old house.
The main floor runs open from the front door to the pool doors. The kitchen got the full treatment: custom cabinetry, a handcrafted range hood, a quartzite island big enough to seat the whole crew, a coffee bar, and a dining banquette under a map of Charleston Harbor. Past it, the family room has a cast concrete fireplace, a built-in media wall, and a desk nook for whoever swears they’re only checking email.
The backyard is the argument for the whole house. A heated 20-by-30 saltwater pool. Dinner under the covered porch. A pool table on the turf. And The Dog House, a little pavilion by the pool with a golden retriever painted on the side; the next owners get to commission a mural of their own dog.
Houses on the island come up all the time. One where everything is already done, three blocks from the beach, does not.

Why It Lives So Well
Luxury here is what you no longer think about
Room to spread out
Two living areas mean the video games and the movie don't have to fight. Everyone's home, and nobody is on top of each other.
A kitchen people actually gather in
The island seats a crowd, the banquette catches the overflow, and the coffee bar keeps the morning rush out of the cook's way.
Two primary suites
One upstairs, one on the main floor with veranda access. Owners, guests, and in-laws each get a real room instead of a compromise.
A backyard you'll use on a Tuesday
Heated saltwater pool, covered porch, pool table on the turf, and The Dog House. It's a vacation setup, except you live here.
The Island
Leave the car parked
The beach is a three-block walk down 20th Avenue. Harris Teeter is one block, so a forgotten dinner ingredient costs you five minutes. Restaurants, coffee, and live music at the Windjammer sit between here and the sand, and downtown Charleston is about 25 minutes away when you want a night out.
